Fishers participating in the Clean Catch cetacean bycatch mitigation trial attend the European Cetacean Society's Annual Meeting

From Fishing News: Three gillnet fishers participating in a Clean Catch trial exploring the use of pingers to mitigate small cetacean bycatch in the U.K. attended the European Cetacean Society's Annual Conference to share their experiences adopting bycatch mitigation practices.

Clean Catch is a Defra-funded program which aims to minimize, and, where possible, eliminate, bycatch of sensitive marine species including marine mammals, seabirds, and elasmobranchs through collaborative trials, shared learning, and the co-development of mitigation tools with fishers.
